Mr. Cockerham offers extensive experience and integrity in civil trial litigation and appellate advocacy. He has tried more than 150 civil cases and prosecuted or defended over 80 appeals in various State and Federal Appellate Courts. Many of his cases have been multi-million dollar suits and precedent-setting cases, and several have been listed in the "Top 20 Defense Verdicts in Missouri."

Bob has over 25 years of expertise in the full range of subrogation, first party and third party insurance claims and cases. In addition to recovering over $25,000,000 in subrogation matters, he has defended insurance carriers in complex coverage, extra-contractual, and bad faith litigation. Moreover, he has defended hundreds of individuals, corporations and public entities in a wide variety of cases. Bob is also well known for taking on insurance frauds of all kinds and has tried to success some of the largest arson/fraud lawsuits.

Subrogation, tort, contract and equity cases Bob has prevailed include serious fire destruction, water loss, building collapse, construction defect, staged accident, insurance application misrepresentation, environmental, vehicular accident, cargo loss, and product liability matters. Bob has also handled a host of personal injury and other claims, mediations, arbitrations and lawsuits. He has set precedence for Reverse Bad Faith cases against insureds. In addition to obtaining Reverse Bad Faith judgments exceeding $1,000,000, he has secured significant judicial opinions upholding such judgments.

Especially well known for his appellate expertise, Bob received the coveted "David J. Dixon Appellate Advocacy Award" from the Missouri Bar Foundation in recognition of his outstanding achievement in appellate practice. Bob began his career as a Staff Attorney for the Missouri Court of Appeals, Eastern District. He has dedicated his legal career thereafter to serving and protecting the insurance industry and others in need.

Bob frequently lectures on various legal topics, including insurance coverage and litigation, subrogation techniques, as well as trial skill and appellate issues. He has authored numerous publications, articles, and treatises on Insurance Law. He has also lectured and served as a contributing author for the Property Loss Research Bureau Claims Conferences, the National Association of Subrogation Professionals, the National Society of Insurance Investigators, the International Association of Arson Investigators, the National Business Institute, Inc., and the Annual Symposium on Property Insurance Law and Claims Adjustment.

Bob and his loving and beautiful wife Stacy are the proud parents of seven wonderful and brilliant children: Erika, Alicia, Ryan, Brandon, Quentin, Sabrina and Abigail. The family is active and committed to various charitable organizations. Bob was elected unanimously by leaders throughout the world to serve as the Chairman of the Board of DeMolay International 2009-2010.
